Daniel Slaman solid body guitars all have 2 identifying features: a Charlie Christian Adjustable pickup in the neck position and a handmade, pre-war 250 style suspended taipiece.
The Jazz Pauletta has one Charlie Christian pickup in the neck position. The guitar features lightweight woods for the body. The goal is to have a solid body guitar with some of that hollow body jazz guitar vibe and response. The top is spruce, redwood or Port Orford cedar, all lightweight softwoods. The body is Western red cedar, Spanish cedar (cedrela odorata) or lightweight mahogany. The neck is Spanish cedar with an ebony fingerboard.
The Pauletta features traditional woods like flamed, quilted or birds'eye maple for the top, mahogany body and mahogany neck. The Pauletta has a P90 pickup in the bridge position to complement the Charlie Christian pickup in the neck position.
All guitar tops are hand carved; no cnc is used anywhere on the guitar. VIDEO
